He wanted to be a preacher’s boy, not an actor.
In high school he developed an interest in acting but went on hiatus after graduating with the intent of entering into ministry as well; however his passion shifted when given opportunities outside what was expected of him and today can usually be found donning some sort-of costume while performing various plays throughout London’s theatre’s district – which also happens to where we find our favorite Mr Darcy!
Heavily influenced by folk and blues, the album is considered one of the country’s most popular albums.
In 1996 he released I Love To Tell The Story: 25 Timeless Hymns which went platinum with a Grammy Award for Best Country Album!
He was married three times before finding happiness with Cindi Knight in 1983; they adopted two children, Andy Samuel Griffith and Dixie Nann Griffith.
In 1957, he co-starred with Patricia Neal in A Face in the Crowd.
