Bill Maher – Born January 20, 1956
He was Catholic, but when he found out his mother had a Jewish background, it changed the way that he looked at religion. He now practices both religions in order to have access to all of their teachings and wisdom
One day as Jacob grew older, something happened which made him look into what kind of religious beliefs his parents held. His father’s family has always been raised devoutly Christian – they went every Sunday worshipping with other believers; however, there were some days where no one would go because they just couldn’t afford it or for whatever reason, nobody wanted to make the drive across town on such an important holiday so this left Jacob wondering if Catholicism really is The Truth™ or not since its followers don’t seem 100% devoted themselves.
Bill was born and raised in New York City, but he spent most of his childhood living on the opposite side of The Hudson River. He attended Pascack High School before going to Cornell University where he graduated with a degree in English Literature.
In 1979, he began his career as a comedian in New York City. After that, he made regular appearances on televised programs for comedians Johnny Carson and David Letterman. In 1983, Darryl started to make films with the movie ‘D.C Cab.’

NY Mets Investment
After buying a minority stake in the New York Mets back in 2012, Maher’s potential shares could be as high as 4%. If he were to purchase all of these shares today it would cost him $80 million. The value is up from about $20 million when his investment first was made.
Maher has never married. In 2003, he began a relationship with former Playboy Cyber Girl Coco Johnsen that lasted for 17 months.
