David Maurice Robinson was born on the 6th of August, 1965 in Key West, Florida. He grew up with a father who was an officer and a mother that worked as a nurse. David also attended classes for gifted children since he started school at six years old. As his senior year came to an end back in 1985 when he scored among the top five per cent nationally on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

Career

After going from five feet nine inches to six feet seven as a freshman and senior, Robinson decided to try out basketball again. He had been focused on getting good grades in the past but wasn’t worried about his future–he enrolled at the Naval Academy University of America which he joined the team when he went there for college. But once they found out that their team needed someone taller than average, everyone wanted him because no one really messed with people who were tall back then so nobody could stop them either way.

Facing his father’s alma mater the University of Michigan, the junior led the team to an Elite Eight spot. Robinson was able to increase his scoring and rebounding averages for this season in a way he hadn’t before with 20 points per game and 13 rebounds per game respectively on average. He also helped lead Purdue past Villanova as well as Notre Dame- both strong teams that had previously knocked them out earlier during March Madness tournaments.
