Gina L. Gershon (born June 10, 1962) is an American actress who has had roles in the films Cocktail (1988), Red Heat (1988), Showgirls (1995), Bound(1996). She currently portrays Gladys Jones on The CW teen drama series Riverdale.

Early life

Gershon was born in Los Angeles to Mickey Gershon, an interior decorator, and Stan Gershon. Paco’s sister is older than her by two years. After graduating from Beverly Hills high school at 18, she attended Emerson College before transferring to New York University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts.



Gershon attended the Circle In The Square Professional Theater School in New York. When she was there, her first professional acting experience came from stage productions of Camille and The Substance Of Fire with David Mamet as a mentor. She is one of the founding members of Naked Angels theatre company which has done many performances on Broadway, including Cabaret (revival), Boeing-Boeing (sex farce), and Bye Bye Birdie(2010 revival).


After her break with Pretty in Pink (1986), Gershon has appeared in several other Hollywood films and TV shows. From 1991 to 1996, she had recurring appearances on Melrose Place playing Corky, an ex-con who mixed up with the wrong people while trying to go straight.

In 2017, Gershon starred in Bad Kids of Crestview Academy, directed by Ben Browder,[18] Lost Cat Corona directed by Anthony Tarsitano,[19] the romantic comedy-drama Permission opposite Dan Stevens and Rebecca Hall[20], as well as 9/11 alongside Whoopi Goldberg. Inconceivable also became a film that same year which was panned critically but faced controversy for Charlie Sheen’s history with domestic violence.[22].

Gershon was the star of Cagefighter: Worlds Collide. She also starred in Rifkin’s Festival, directed by Woody Allen; following backlash for starring in the film, she defended her decision to do so, stating, “I don’t believe that to be true.”

Gershon portrayed Nancy Sinatra, Frank’s first wife, in the biopic TV series Sinatra. She also played a prostitute working for Heidi Fleiss-Esque Hollywood madam on Melrose Place and herself on The Larry Sanders Show before starring as Glenn Hall – lead detective of ABC’s short-lived Snoops created by David E Kelley.

Gershon has been active in the film and television industry for over a decade. In 2013, Gershon starred as Donatella Versace—founder of fashion house Versace—in House of Versace on Lifetime TV. The performance earned praise from Cathy Horyn at Vogue, who wrote, “her voice is breathtakingly perfect.” That same year, she began starring in Crackle’s Cleaners series alongside David Hasselhoff.

In 2015, Gershon made a guest appearance on Glee’s sixth and final season as Blaine’s mother. From 2015 to 2017, she had a recurring role on Amazon Prime Video’s Red Oaks. That same year, she also appeared in two episodes of Elementary. In 2016, Gershon guest-starred on Empire.

In 2016, she also played Trump’s wife Melania Trump on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, An Off-Broadway play, “The 1st Annual Trump Family Special”. She most recently tackled the role for a whole TV series called CBS All Access’1s The Good Fight.


Gershon played Jew’s harp on “I Can’t Decide,” a song from the Scissor Sisters 2006 release Ta-Dah. She also played Jew’s harp in Paul Simon and Herbie Hancock’s collaboration, their album Possibilities (in a duo with bassist Christian McBride), and Lenny Kravitz’s music video “Again.”

In 2015, Gershon dated Bobby Dekeyser. A Belgian football player turned furniture designer. However, in January 2018, they were no longer together and are said to be single now.
