Nas net worth

Nas has been hailed as one of the greats in hip-hop and his recent venture investments have helped to secure his status. Nas first gained international acclaim with “Illmatic” – a 1994 album regarded by some critics as among the greatest albums ever recorded, he continues to be prolific artistically while also investing early on into successful startups such as Dropbox, Coinbase, Ring Lyft (with an ownership stake), Genius and Pluto TV which are helping grow not only their own companies but benefiting NAS’ pockets too.

Early Life

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones was born in Brooklyn on September 14, 1973. His dad is from Mississippi and his mom comes from North Carolina. Nas has a brother who also raps professionally under the name Jungle but he’s more famous as one-fourth of The Bravehearts collective rap group that took off after their debut album “Too Hard To Swallow” dropped back in 1993, led by another member named Big Daddy Kane (who then rose to fame at around this time thanks mainly due to his sensational single “Ain’t No Half-Steppin'”). When he was four years old Nas started learning how to play the trumpet which eventually turned into him discovering hip hop music when nine-year-olds just didn’t know about it

In 1991, Nas performed on Main Source’s “Live at the Barbeque.” In 1992, thanks to his then-manager MC Serch and some excellent rhymes; he signed with Columbia Records. His first album was released in 1994 and titled Illmatic which is still regarded as one of hip hop’s greatest albums today by many scholars and fans alike.

Nas’s debut album, Illmatic, was released in 1994. The album is considered to be one of the best hip-hop albums ever made and it garnered him much fame from a number of singles including “It Ain’t Hard To Tell,” “One Love” and many more. This sophomore release It Was Written only cemented his reputation as an artist with instant hits on two songs: If I Ruled The World (Imagine That) featuring Lauryn Hill and Street Dreams which featured Cormega among other artists such as AZ & Foxy Brown who were all part of Nas’ supergroup Firm at this point.

The Firm signed to Dr Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment label and began working on their debut album. Cormega was fired from the group halfway through the recording of the album, which resulted in Nature becoming a fourth member of The Firm, Nas’ new rap crew consisting also of Foxy Brown and AZ as featured artists. Released 2001 following an apparent hiatus for all involved members after 1997 release “The Album,” reviews were mixed but it went platinum despite lacklustre sales – leading many critics to speculate that there had been some foul play behind-the-scenes involving shady business dealings or major record company politics at work(?).

Nas released his ninth album, Nasir, in 2018. The 13-track album includes appearances from Rick Ross and Adam Levine. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with a very respectable 219k copies sold during its opening week of release. He has been nominated for six Grammy Awards but still hasn’t won any yet!

Venture Capitalist

Nas has a keen interest in emerging technology and is the co-founder of Queensbridge Venture Partners. The firm invests predominately $100k to 500K with 100+ pitches per month from new firms seeking capital, generating hits like Dropbox, Lyft, SeatGeek and Robinhood among others.

Queensbridge is a VC that has been involved in the success of some big companies, including Amazon and Coinbase. He had small stakes in Ring when it was sold to Alexa for $1.1 billion dollars by Queensbridge’s investment company, which he then made equity on with Pill Pack at a whopping 100 million dollar valuation before Viacom bought out Pluto TV last year. His investments are starting to really pay off now too–he took part ownership of Sweet Chick back in 2013 with an initial investment worth between 35 and 100 million USD; his stake has grown exponentially since they opened their first location just four years ago!

Personal Life

Nas married singer Kelis in Atlanta, Georgia. After two years of dating the couple split up and Nas filed for divorce from his now ex-wife while seven months pregnant with their son Knight, born on July 21st 2009. The pair’s marriage ended after a difficult time together marked by verbal abuse as well as physical violence according to both parties involved – something that remains contentious between them today given they have since remarried but continue to clash over custody rights surrounding Knight and another child they had together who was also put into care when he was just four weeks old due to “deplorable” living conditions at her home where she said there were exposed wires hanging from light fittings near-naked baby walkers which are not safe around

IRS Issues

The Internal Revenue Service filed a federal tax lien against Nas for over $2.5 million, seeking unpaid taxes dating back to 2006. In early 2011 his tax debt had grown to more than $6.4 million due in large part because of penalties and interest accrued from the initial filing date – all this despite earning nearly 8 figures annually during that time span (according to 2 Forbes). The IRS has taken steps since then ̵

Earnings Highlights

After a lull in earnings, Nas has returned to his peak earning days. Between September 2017 and 2019, he earned $35 million. And from the looks of it, there’s no stopping him anytime soon!

Real Estate

Nas has been pretty busy since he started his career in the early 1990s. He’s released eight albums and is also credited on more than eighteen other projects including soundtracks for movies such as “The Bear,” video games like Def Jam Vendetta 2, and even a collaboration with Nike to create Nas’ first signature shoe line called Air Jordan XX8 SE – Hero. It was only natural that he would eventually have enough money to purchase a home of his own where he could let loose when not working at one of his many businesses or performing around the world; but sometimes it can be hard finding time between all those things!
