Tara Lipinski is a retired figure skater born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tara is the younger sister of American ice dancer and Olympic medalist Kristi Yamaguchi. She has won five medals at the Olympics, four of them gold. Her most successful year was 1998 when she became the youngest person to win an individual Winter Olympic event with her victory in Nagano.
In 1993, Tara made her debut on the TV skating show “Tonya & Nancy: The Inside Story.” It was then that she met future rival Michelle Kwan for the first time together on ice while filming an episode about their rivalry.
